unit,4 the unit name is highlighted in red in three different places: (1) in the top navigation bar, (2) between two lines in small red letters just below the top navigation bar, and (3) at the top of the left-side navigation panel. The name remains highlighted in these positions for as long as the reader remains inside that unit. Also once the reader is inside a unit, the names of the main sections of the unit appear in the left-side navigation panel, with the name of the specific section in which the reader is located highlighted in red. The name of the section also appears in large letters at the top of the text column. Using the left navigation panel, the reader can navigate to any other main section of the unit or to the report Sitemap.

Within the text, there are a number of words and phrases highlighted in red. Each embeds a live link that is activated when the reader positions the cursor over the highlighted term and clicks the touchpad or mouse. The activated link does one of the following: (1) opens a footnote that will pop up in a window below the left-side navigation panel and (when possible) opposite the link; (2) takes the reader to another location in the report in a new window; or (3) opens a website in a new window from which the relevant content can be viewed or downloaded. Also in red are “Elaboration” icons that, when clicked, unfold text that otherwise would be hidden.

Once a footnote window is opened, the reader may increase or decrease the size of the text by clicking on the + or - icons in the window. To close an opened footnote window, the reader can either click on the “CLOSE” icon inside the footnote window or click again on the highlighted footnote link in the text.

When the reader’s click on a highlighted term has opened another location in the report or another website in a new window, closing the new window will return the reader to his or her previous location in the report. In closing the new window, however, the reader must be careful not to close the original report window.

To re-hide the text that was opened in an Elaboration, the reader can either click on the “Close Elaboration” icon at the bottom of the revealed text or click again on the Elaboration icon. (The icon arrow, which was down when the Elaboration text was open, will again point to the left once the text is re-hidden.)

The size of the text in the main body of the report can be increased or decreased by using the “zoom” utility found on the browser’s menu bar, or by using the key combinations Control + to increase and Control - to decrease the size. To return to the document home page from any other page in the main document, click on the APLU logo in the upper left-hand corner of the page.
